Product details
Guanine is a purine-type base found in DNA and RNA, and can also be produced by hydrolysis from guano or fish scales. It is usually synthesised as a hypoxanthine nucleotide, then oxidised to produce a xanthine nucleotide, and finally aminated to produce a guanine nucleotide. Guanine and its nucleosides are a remedial synthetic pathway of nucleotide metabolism.
Uses of Guanine powder.
Guanine is an alkaloid with important physiological functions. It acts as an intracellular messenger for signalling in cells and has an antagonistic effect with cAMP on metabolic regulation.
In addition, guanine is used in drug preparation. For example, Ganciclovir, an analogue of guanine, is used as a treatment for blindness due to hypoviralisation.
The consequences of alkylation at the N - 7 position of guanine have also been mentioned in the field of medical education. This alkylation may lead to consequences such as guanine shedding, depurination, deletion of action bases and shift mutations.
Characteristic of Guanine powder.
Five-coloured needle crystal or unqualified powder.Mp360°C(decomposition). Soluble in acids and bases, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether, insoluble in water.
Guanine, like adenine and cytosine, occurs in both DNA and RNA. Whereas thymine is usually found in DNA, uracil occurs only in RNA.
Product Method of Bulk Guanine powder.
5-Amino-4-imidazolamide is esterified with phenylmethyl isothiocyanate to form an ester, which is then reacted with iodomethane and ammonia in turn.
