Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is very high in the human central nervous system brain and spinal cord, which is more than 1000 times higher than the brain monoamines such as catecholamine, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc., which is the highest in the substantia nigra and the pallida pallida, and about 20% to 40% of the synapses in the brain are GABA as a transmitter.
