Sebacic Acid Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Sebacic acid has a wide range of uses and is mainly used to make esters of sebacic acid, whose esters have a wide range of uses, such as dibutyl sebacate, dioctyl sebacate, diisooctyl sebacate. These esters can be used as plasticisers for plastics and cold-resistant rubber, and can also be used to make polyamide, polyurethane, alkyd resins, synthetic lubricants, lubricant additives, as well as fragrances, paints, cosmetics and so on. It can also be used as the raw material for producing nylon 1010, nylon 910, nylon 810, nylon 610, nylon 9, and the raw material for high-temperature-resistant lubricant diethylhexyl ester.

It is also the raw material for the production of alkyd resin (used as surface coating, plasticising nitrocellulose coating and urea resin varnish) and plasticiser, softener and solvent for polyurethane rubber, cellulose resin, vinyl resin and synthetic rubber.

Uses of Sebacic Acid.

It is mainly used as raw material of sebacate plasticiser and nylon moulding resin, and also used as raw material of high temperature resistant lubricant. Its main ester products are methyl ester, isopropyl ester, butyl ester, octyl ester, nonyl ester and benzyl ester, and the commonly used esters are dibutyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate.

Sebacic acid plasticiser can be widely used in polyvinyl chloride, alkyd resin, polyester resin and polyamide moulding resin, due to its low toxicity and high temperature resistance, so it is often used in some special purpose resins. Nylon moulding resin produced with sebacic acid has high toughness and low hygroscopicity, and can also be processed into many special-purpose products. Sebacic acid is also a softener for rubber, a surfactant, and a raw material for coatings and fragrances.
