Product details

Equol Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Estragole is a phytoestrogen that regulates the uncomfortable symptoms of too low or too high estrogen. Estragole is produced by fermentation of soybean germ and is a metabolite of soy isoflavones in the presence of intestinal microflora.

Compared with soy isoflavones, estragole is closer in structure to the female hormone and has a more direct action, with more direct and efficient biological activity than soy isoflavones.

The in vivo antidepressant activity of estragole has not been reported, so the team of Food Nutrition and Functional Factor Utilization of the Institute of Agricultural Product Processing, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), for the first time, evaluated the antidepressant activity of estragole and explored the mechanism of its action by using the lipopolysaccharide-induced depression model in mice.

The results showed that estragole preventive intervention could significantly improve depression-like behaviors such as pleasure deficit and acute behavioral despair in the depression model mice, and that estragole may play an antidepressant role by reducing neuroinflammation level and balancing tryptophan metabolism homeostasis.

Equol Powder

Uses and Function of Equol.

Estragole is a phytoestrogen, fermented from soybean germ, which is a metabolite of soy isoflavones under the action of intestinal microflora.

Estmarol is closer in structure to the female hormone and acts more directly, possessing more direct and efficient biological activity than soy isoflavones. Uses of estragole include its use as an API in the production of bleomycin sulfate.

In addition, estragole has antidepressant activity, improving depressive-like behavior, reducing neuroinflammatory levels, and balancing tryptophan metabolic homeostasis. Estragole supplementation is 10 times as effective as taking soy isoflavones and 100 times as effective as using soy products directly.

Equol

In vitro studies of action of Equole.

Equol is a metabolite produced from soy glycosides by the action of intestinal flora.Equol has a high affinity for estrogen receptors (both ERalpha and ERbeta).Equol exists in two enantiomers, R-equol and S-equol.S-equol has a higher affinity and binds preferentially to ERbeta with a Ki of 16nM, while R-equol binds weakly and binds preferentially to ERalpha with a Ki of 50nM.Equol has better antioxidant activity than all other isoflavones.Equol has a higher antioxidant activity than all other isoflavones. S-equol has a higher affinity and binds preferentially to ERbeta, with a Ki of 16 nM, while R-equol has a weaker binding affinity and binds preferentially to ERalpha, with a Ki of 50 nM.Equol has better antioxidant activity than all the other isoflavones.Equol has anti-estrogenic properties.Equol is up to 100-fold more effective at stimulating estrogenic responses than soybean sapogenins. The antioxidant properties of S-equol have been demonstrated in a number of studies.
