Chuan chenpiin (Nobiletin) is a polymethoxyflavonoid found in some citrus fruits with a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and neuroprotective properties.
A team of researchers led by the Heart Institute at the University of Ottawa, Canada, found through mouse experiments that chuanpiensin can counteract the adverse effects caused by a high-fat diet, thereby improving metabolic dysregulation and preventing postprandial hyperlipidemia.
Previous epidemiologic studies have shown that higher flavonoid intake is associated with lower cardiovascular risk. Therefore, Kawecheapitin should also have a role in reducing disease risk.
Uses of Nobiletin.
Chuan chenpianin is a flavonoid with anticoagulant, antithrombotic, anticancer, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, anticholinesterase and antiepileptic properties. In addition, Chuan Chenpi pigment can promote carbohydrate metabolism.
A team of Canadian researchers found that chuanpianin was effective in lowering the level of triglyceride-rich proteins after a meal, and also promoted the clearance of triglycerides to reduce their accumulation in the intestinal tract. In addition, it can increase AKT/FoxO1 phosphorylation levels to increase insulin sensitivity, thus lowering blood glucose levels.
Chuanpianin also prevents high-fat diet-induced metabolic dysregulation and reduces atherosclerosis, VLDL-triglyceride secretion, and hepatic triglyceride accumulation through multi-tissue effects.
