Clobetasol propionate is a dermatological drug. It is indicated for topical use in chronic eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, palmoplantar pustulosis, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus, and other pruritic and non-infectious inflammatory skin diseases for which topical glucocorticoid therapy is effective.

Pharmacological Effect of Clobetasol Propionate.
Clobetasol propionate acts rapidly and is one of the more potent of the topical corticosteroids currently in clinical use, with strong capillary constriction. Its anti-inflammatory effect is 112.5 times that of hydrocortisone, 2.3 times that of betamethasone sodium phosphate, 18.7 times that of florazepam, and the systemic adverse effects are 3 times that of florazepam. No water-sodium retention effect, there is a certain promotion of sodium and potassium excretion.
