Product details
Dimethylglycine is an endogenous compound and a very effective metabolic enzyme in living organisms. Due to its amphoteric molecular structure, it has a number of unique functions, which can stimulate cells to produce higher antibody responses and enhance the activity of cells and macrophages. It can synthesise free radicals in the human body, promote the use of oxygen in body tissues, with antioxidant and enhance the role of humoral and cellular immune response, but also effective in doubling the production of interferon, and in participating in the metabolic
process in the organism does not produce heat.
Uses of Dimethylglycine.
Used as pharmaceutical intermediates
Biological Activity of Dimethylglycine.
Dimethylamino is a naturally occurring N-terminal methylated glycine commonly used in glycine-based ionic liquids and in emulsifiers.
Synthesis Method of Dimethylglycine.
A mixture of the desired amine or amino acid (1 mmol) and paraformaldehyde (5-9 mmol) was prepared in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (5 mL) in a round-bottom flask (25 mL) equipped with a magnetic stirrer and condenser.
NaBH4 (2-4 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred under reflux conditions. Gradually add paraformaldehyde and NaBH4. When the reaction is complete filter the mixture and wash the residue with TFE (2 mL). The solvent was distilled (recovered for the next run).
The crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography dried to give N,N-dimethylglycine.
