    Product Details

    What Is L-Glutamine?

L-Glutamine is the most abundant free-form amino acid in your bloodstream, classified as a "conditionally essential" amino acid. Under normal circumstances, your body produces enough to meet its needs. However, during periods of stress, intense exercise, illness, or digestive issues, your body's demand may exceed its production, making supplementation beneficial.

This amino acid serves as a primary fuel source for cells in your small intestine and supports the integrity of your gut lining. It also plays a key role in immune cell function and acts as a building block for proteins. For fitness enthusiasts in Chicago or Miami, it’s valued for its potential to aid muscle recovery and reduce exercise-induced soreness.

    L-Glutamine Powder Usage and Synthesis.

L-glutamine is widely available in nature, e.g. in the free state in pumpkin and sunflower seedlings, and its N-ethyl compound (theanine) in tea. Although glutamine can be extracted from natural products, fermentation and synthesis are used for mass production.

    Uses and functions of L-Glutamine.

Nutritional supplements, flavouring and aroma enhancers. Used in medicine to treat peptic ulcer, alcohol poisoning and improve brain function.

L-Glutamine is converted into glycosamine in the body, as the precursor of synthesising mucin, it can promote the healing of ulcers, mainly used as peptic ulcer medicine. In addition, it is also used as a brain function improver and for the treatment of alcoholism.

    Recommended Dosage and Usage

Typical maintenance doses range from 5 to 10 grams daily, often divided into two servings. For specific gut support protocols, some functional medicine practitioners in cities like Seattle or Melbourne may recommend higher doses under supervision. Always consult with a healthcare provider before beginning any new supplement regimen.

    Best Times to Take L-Glutamine:

    • Between meals for gut healing

    • Post-workout for recovery

    • Before bed to support overnight repair processes

Who Can Benefit Most from L-Glutamine Supplementation?
    • Active Individuals & Athletes: For recovery support after training in gyms from Hamburg to Houston

    • Those with Digestive Sensitivities: People experiencing occasional gut discomfort

    • Stress-Prone Individuals: During periods of heightened physical or emotional stress

    • Health-Conscious Aging Adults: Supporting immune function and muscle maintenance

    • Post-Surgery Recovery: Supporting tissue repair and immune function (under medical guidance)

    L-Glutamine Raw

    Characteristic of L-Glutamine.

    1. It participates in the biosynthesis of glucosamine, a constituent of mucin in the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, thus promoting the repair of mucous membrane epithelial tissues and contributing to the elimination of ulcer foci. At the same time, it can pass the blood-brain barrier to promote brain metabolism and improve brain function, and it is an important nutrient for brain metabolism like glutamic acid.

    2. It exists in tobacco leaves and smoke.

    3. It has value in the field of immunity. It is used in organisms to convert toxic ammonia into non-toxic glutamine, which is excreted through urine. It is generally not involved in the composition of proteins

    L-Glutamine Powder

Production Method of  Bulk L-Glutamine Powder.

L-glutamine is widely available in nature, e.g. in the free state in pumpkin and sunflower seedlings, and its N-ethyl compound (theanine) in tea.Although glutamine can be extracted from natural products, fermentation and synthesis are used for mass production.

    1. The synthetic method is obtained from L-glutamic acid-5-methyl ester ([1499-55-4]) by condensation, addition, salt formation and hydrolysis. Glutamic acid is esterified with methanol in the presence of concentrated sulphuric acid, and the resulting esterified solution is added dropwise to a mixture of methanol and carbon disulphide, and ammonia is passed through under cooling while dropping. After the dropwise addition of the esterified solution, the ammonia was continued to be passed, then triethylamine was added, and the product was placed in a closed chamber at 30℃ for 40h.

After concentration under reduced pressure to drive off the ammonia, the γ-methyl-L-glutamic acid-N-ammonium diammonium salt concentrate was obtained. It was heated to 40-45°C and acetic acid was added. After stirring for 30 min, carbon disulfide was removed under reduced pressure, at which time a large number of crystals were precipitated. Then add an equal volume of methanol, placed at 0 ℃ for 12h, filtration, the crude glutamine. After activated carbon decolourisation, recrystallisation to get the finished product.

    2. Fermentation method will be glucose or acetic acid, ethanol as a medium carbon source, with the yellow Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Brevibacteriumflavum) strain fermentation, glucose yield of 39g / L, yield of 39%.

    Your L-Glutamine Questions Answered

Q1: What's the difference between L-Glutamine and regular Glutamine?

A: "Glutamine" refers to the general amino acid, while "L-Glutamine" is the biologically active form used by your body. When purchasing supplements in the UK, US, or Europe, ensure the label specifies "L-Glutamine" for effectiveness.

Q2: Can I take L-Glutamine powder if I'm vegetarian or vegan?

A: Yes, most L-Glutamine supplements are synthetically produced or fermented from plant sources, making them suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Check labels for certification if this is important to you.

Q3: How long does it take to notice benefits from L-Glutamine?

A: Individual responses vary. Some notice digestive improvements within days, while immune or recovery benefits may take 2-4 weeks of consistent use. Consistency is key—incorporate it into your daily routine like brushing your teeth.

Q4: Can L-Glutamine help with "leaky gut" syndrome?

A: L-Glutamine is frequently included in gut-healing protocols because it serves as fuel for enterocytes (intestinal lining cells). While it supports gut barrier integrity, comprehensive approach including diet and lifestyle changes is typically recommended by functional medicine practitioners in centers like Los Angeles or Zurich.

Q5: Is L-Glutamine safe to take with medications?

A: L-Glutamine may interact with certain medications, including anticonvulsants and chemotherapy drugs. Always consult your healthcare provider, especially if you have underlying health conditions or take prescription medications.
