Uses of Actinomycin D.
Actinomycin D is extracted from a kind of actinomycetes isolated from soil after fermentation. In vitro studies have shown that actinomyctin D mainly acts on RNA, and at high concentrations, it affects RNA and DNA synthesis at the same time. The mechanism of action is that it is chimeric in the DNA double strand and binds to its guanine group, inhibits the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity, interferes with the transcription process of cells, and thus inhibits mRNA synthesis, that is, it can interfere with the transcription process of mRNA cells in human body, and has therapeutic effects on nerve and nephroblastoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Hodgkin's disease and testicular tumor, etc. It can also be treated with actinomycin D.
