The induction of paclitaxel biosynthetic pathway was induced at 0, 0.1, 1, 10, and 20 μmol/L ammonium citrate to observe the changes in the yield of paclitaxel analogues and to qualitatively analyze them by biometabolic pathways.

The results showed that the yield of paclitaxel was increased nearly 3-fold under the induction of 10 μmol/L ammonium citrate, while the concentration of 10-DAB and baccatin III showed a decrease, which showed a degree of negative correlation with the concentration of paclitaxel. By kinetic analysis, it was pointed out that ammonium citrate addition increased the reaction rate of the reaction from baccatin III to paclitaxel interactions.
