Hyperoside Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Hyperoside is an important natural product extracted from the dried flowers of Hibiscus truncatula, a plant of the Malvaceae family. It is a pale yellow needle-shaped crystal that is easily soluble in ethanol, methanol, acetone and pyridine and is stable under normal conditions. It reacts with hydrochloric acid-magnesium powder to produce cherry red.

Hyperoside belongs to the flavonol glycosides and has multiple physiological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, diuretic, antitussive, antihypertensive, cholesterol-lowering, protein assimilation, local and central analgesic, and protective effects on the heart and brain blood vessels.
