Synthesis method of S-adenosyl Methionine.
S-adenosylmethionine is synthesized intracellularly from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and methionine by methionine adenosyltransferase catalyzed by the loss of a methyl group to S-adenosylhomocysteine while participating in a methyl transfer reaction as a coenzyme. Most of the S-adenosyl methionine is produced in the liver.
