Product details
Biotin is an essential coenzyme in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is involved in the interconversion of carbohydrates and proteins, the conversion of proteins and carbohydrates into fats. It also acts as a coenzyme for carboxylases, transferring carboxyl groups and fixing carbon dioxide. It also serves as a cofactor for many enzymes and acts as a carboxyl carrier, fixing carbon dioxide and decarboxylating in carbohydrate metabolism.
Biotin participates in the metabolic processes of sugars, proteins, and fats in the animal body in the form of coenzymes. Biotin is necessary to maintain the development of animal skin, hair, hooves, reproduction and nervous system, but also to improve feed utilization, weight gain and so on.
When lacking, growth is slow, reproduction is impaired, and dermatitis, hair loss, and skin keratinization occur. Pigs commonly have skin ulcers, inflammation of the oral mucosa, diarrhea, cramps, cracks and bleeding on the sole of the hoof. Mainly used as an adjuvant for lesions caused by vitamin H deficiency and malnutrition.

Uses of Vitamin B7.
Nutritional supplement. It can be used in the food industry as a processing aid according to GB2760-90 in China. The product has physiological functions such as preventing skin diseases and promoting lipid metabolism. Large consumption of raw protein can lead to biotin deficiency.
It is a coenzyme of carboxylase, which participates in many carboxylation reactions and is an important coenzyme in the intermediate metabolism of sugar, protein and fat.
As a feed additive, it is mainly used in poultry and sow feed. Usually premixed at a mass fraction of 1%-2%.
1) Participate in the metabolism of fatty acids and carbohydrates in the body, and are coenzymes of many enzymes.
2) Promote protein synthesis, urea synthesis and excretion.
3) Improve the regulation of blood glucose, favoring the health and regeneration of cells.

Correct Dosage:
The recommended enteral dose for adults is 10–200 micrograms daily. The general recommended daily intake is 30 micrograms (0.03 mg), which is usually contained in many multivitamins and is sufficient to meet the daily needs of most people.
For specific purposes, such as improving nail health, a dose of 2.5 mg (2500 micrograms) daily was used in studies for six months. This dose is significantly higher than the recommended intake, but current evidence suggests it is relatively safe.
In specific medical conditions, such as adult patients receiving enteral nutritional support, the recommended dose of biotin may vary.
Vitamin B7 Frequently Asked Questions
Is Biotin the same substance as Vitamin B7?
Yes, Biotin, Vitamin B7, and Vitamin H all refer to the same water-soluble B vitamin. Although it is technically called Vitamin B7, this name is not very common and it is usually simply referred to as Biotin.
Who might need Biotin supplementation?
Most people get enough Biotin through a balanced diet. However, supplementation may be necessary in some cases, such as in people at risk of deficiency (alcoholics, those on certain epilepsy medications, and those who consume excessive amounts of raw egg whites).
How does Biotin affect laboratory test results?
High-dose Biotin supplementation (such as 10 mg daily) may interfere with immunoassays using the Biotin-Streptavidin technique. This can lead to abnormal results in various blood tests, including cardiac markers, pregnancy hormones, thyroid function, and vitamin D levels.
What are the best food sources of Biotin?
Biotin is found in a variety of foods, including legumes, nuts, whole grains, yeast, milk, egg yolks, pork, organ meats, and even chocolate. Most people can get enough biotin through a varied diet.
