Ferrous Sulfate Usage and Synthesis.

Ferrous sulfate is an inorganic metal salt substance, which can be used as nutritional supplement (iron fortifier); fruit and vegetable coloring agent; it can also be used in the production of iron salts, iron oxide pigments, mordant, water purification agent, preservative, disinfectant and so on, and as anti-anemia drug in medicine.

Uses of Ferrous Sulfate.

The cryptochrome pigment contained in beans is colorless in the reduced state, and it becomes black when oxidized under alkaline, and the use of ferrous sulfate can achieve the purpose of color protection by using the reducing property of ferrous sulfate, the dosage of which is 0.02%～0.03%.

Heating to 70 ~ 73 ° C to lose 3 molecules of water, to 80 ~ 123 ° C to lose 6 molecules of water, to 156 ° C or more converted to alkaline iron sulfate. Freely soluble in water (1g/1.5ml, 25℃ or 1g/0.5ml boiling water). Insoluble in ethanol.
