Zinc sulfate is the main raw material for the manufacture of zinc barium white and zinc salts, and is also used as a mordant for printing and dyeing, a preservative for wood and leather, and an important auxiliary raw material for the production of viscose and vinylon fibers. Uses of Zinc Sulphate.

It is produced by the action of zinc or zinc oxide with sulfuric acid or by extracting and refining sphalerite after roasting in a reflector furnace.

Pharmacological effect of Zinc Sulphate.
Zinc is a component of many enzyme systems (e.g., carbonic anhydrase, ethanol dehydrogenase, and alkaline phosphatase), and zinc deficiency can lead to abnormal enzyme function.
