Product details
Apigenin is a naturally occurring flavonoid compound in the form of phytoalexin found in a variety of plants, mainly from the umbelliferae plant, dry cress, and found in other plants such as chamomile, bee balm, perilla, verbena, and yarrow.Chamomile is native to England and is planted in Germany, France and Morocco. Roman chamomile and German chamomile share many common characteristics: about 30 cm tall, yellow centre, white flower office and slightly hairy leaves.Chamomile has the effect of aiding sleep, relieving the symptoms of inflammation and pain in patients, and relieving insomnia caused by neurotic itching of the skin. It is also cultivated in large quantities in China for use in medicine and tea. Everyday herbal teas are sold with apigenin in the ingredients, mainly from the dried flowers of Matricaria chamomilla.
Uses and functions of Apigenin.
The flavonoid contained in apigenin is a plant flavonoid that has been found to inhibit cell proliferation by blocking the cell cycle at the G2/M phase. Inhibition of growth through cell cycle arrest and induction of apoptosis appears to be associated with the induction of p53. PMA-mediated tumour promotion was inhibited by inhibition of protein kinase C and the resulting suppression of oncogene expression. Studies have also reported inhibition of topoisomerase i-catalysed deoxyribonucleic acid reattachment and enhancement of gap junction intercellular communication.
Flavonoids (flavonoid), which capture the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, inhibit cell expansion. Inhibits growth and induces apoptosis, used in oncology drugs.
Pharmacological Effect of Apigenin.
The molecular structure of apigenin determines its unique physiological effects and biological properties, and it has a good biological role. A large number of studies at home and abroad have found that apigenin is a natural antioxidant, has the effect of lowering blood pressure and vasodilatation, preventing atherosclerosis, and inhibiting tumours. Compared with other flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol flavonoids), it has the characteristics of low toxicity and non-mutagenicity. At present, apigenin has some applications in medicine, food and other industries. However, the poor water solubility and low intestinal absorption of apigenin have led to its low oral bioavailability and low in vivo activity, which have limited its application to some extent.
