TBHQ is a safe and efficient antioxidant for edible fats and oils, suitable for vegetable oils and lard. It is especially suitable for frying food due to its high melting and boiling points.

TBHQ also has good anti-bacterial, mould and yeast effects, which can enhance the preservation effect of high oil and water foods.
