As a food additive: DL- BATA-hydroxybutyrate can be used as a food additive, e.g. as an acidity regulator and antioxidant.
As a reagent for biological experiments: Sodium DL-BATA-hydroxybutyrate can be used as a reagent for biological experiments, e.g. as a component of cell culture media and as a biochemical reagent.
It is important to note that DL- BATA-hydroxybutyrate is toxic and first aid measures should be taken immediately in case of inadvertent exposure or ingestion.
