Quercetin Usage and Synthesis.

Quercetin is a commonly used expectorant in Chinese medicine clinics in China, this product has a good expectorant, cough effect, but also has a certain asthma effect, and has the pharmacological functions of lowering blood pressure, improving capillary resistance, reducing capillary fragility, lowering blood lipids, dilating coronary arteries, increasing coronary blood flow.

Pharmacological Effect of Quercetin.

Quercetin significantly inhibits the action of pro-cancer agents, inhibits the growth of isolated malignant cells, and inhibits DNA, RNA and protein synthesis in Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells.

Quercetin has inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) release, and has significant inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation induced by ADP, thrombin and platelet-activating factor (PAF), with the strongest inhibitory effect on PAF, and also significantly inhibits thrombin-induced 3H-5-HT release from rabbit platelets.

The bark of the oak (Quercus) plant of the beech family is ground to a powder, washed with hot saline, extracted with dilute ammonia and then neutralised with dilute sulphuric acid.

It is obtained by boiling the filtrate and precipitating crystals.

It can be extracted from lily plant onion (Alliumcepa) etc. with 95% ethanol; it can also be obtained from rutin (rutin) extract and quercetin, isoquercetin, anisatin, chrysin, quercetin xanthin, rhamnetin etc. hydrolysed by rutinolytic enzyme or acidic aqueous solution.
