Neotame Powder Usage and Synthesis.

NutraSweet is the result of more than 20 years' research by American Newt Company, and it is the symbol of new generation of sweeteners. On July 9, 2002, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed the safety and functionality of NutraSweet, and approved NutraSweet to be used as sweeteners and flavour enhancers for general use in a variety of foods and beverages.

On 10th March 2003, the Ministry of Health of China approved the use of Nutella as a sweetener in a variety of foods and beverages, and the amount of use depends on production needs.

The sweetness of Nutella is 7,000 to 13,000 times sweeter than sucrose, and the actual sweetness multiplier varies according to the required sweetness intensity and the specific application.

NutriSweet has pure sweetness, in ordinary or sugar-free drinks, using NutriSweet to replace part of the sweetener can not only get the appropriate sweetness and flavour of the product, it also has the ability to reduce the cost of the product.

Uses and functions of Neotame.

Neotame is a non-nutritive, non-energetic sweetener. It has high sweetness, no toxic side effects and its sweetness cost is much lower than sucrose and aspartame, so it can be widely used in the production of food industry. -Application in all kinds of beverages

(1) Carbonated beverages: NutraSweet can last for 16 weeks in cola-type carbonated beverages. It has the same shelf life as the low energy carbonated beverages sold in the market. It can also be used in lemonade.

(2) Non-carbonated beverages: Nutella can be used in hot-filled lemon tea, solid powdered beverages, yoghurt and other foods, and in these foods are very stable and good quality. -In dairy products, Nutella can be used in dairy products, ice cream and other frozen desserts.

Neotame

Solubility of Neotame.

The solubility of neotame in water is 12.6 g/L and aspartame 10 g/L at 25°C. The multiple of solubility required to achieve the same sweetness as a 10% sucrose solution, i.e., the MRS10% value, is approximately 740.

That is, the solubility of neotame is approximately 740 times greater than the solubility required to achieve the same sweetness as a 10% sucrose solution.

In comparison, this multiplier for aspartame is only about 19. It is worth noting that the rate of dissolution of neotame in the aqueous phase increases significantly when it is present as a salt (e.g., phosphate) or complex (e.g., with β-cyclodextrin).

The solubility of neotame in anhydrous ethanol is very high, about 950 g/L at 25°C, exceeding aspartame (3.7 g/L at 25°C) by a factor of 250.
